THE CELESTIAL ALMANAC

Methods

See how AstroDaily defines dates, interprets chart features and draws its cards.

Daily results

Scores, colours, numbers, reflections and the daily card use a versioned seed based on your birth profile, reading time zone and its local calendar date. The entertainment layer refreshes at the next local midnight. The traditional layer uses the sexagenary day stem and, when available, its relationship with your BaZi day stem.

Tarot

The 78 names and ordering follow the Rider–Waite–Smith tradition, with Strength at VIII and Justice at XI. The deck uses original line artwork. New spreads use a browser-generated secure shuffle without replacement. The daily card uses the daily seed. The card texts are an evergreen library of reflection prompts.

BaZi Four Pillars

The year changes at Lìchūn. The month changes at the twelve jié solar-term instants. The library’s UTC+08:00 term clock is compared with the birth instant resolved from the IANA zone. The day pillar follows the local civil clock, with a choice of midnight or 23:00 rollover. The Zi branch covers 23:00 through 00:59 and uses the hour stem of the day on which that branch ends.

Zi Wei Dou Shu

The iztro standard chart uses local civil date and birth hour, the lunar year boundary and the lunar-year age convention. A leap month is split after day 15. Late Zi can stay on the civil date or move to the next day. The cycle setting selects the traditional male or female chart. Twelve natal palaces, the major stars and the four transformations provide the basis for the interpretation.

Calendar and time zones

Enter Gregorian dates from 1901 through 2099. A named IANA time zone supplies historical daylight-saving offsets. A repeated or skipped clock time requires a different, unambiguous entry. These charts use civil clock time without true-solar-time or longitude correction. The Western zodiac uses fixed tropical date ranges. The Chinese zodiac changes at Lunar New Year.

Annual and monthly readings

Enter a Gregorian reference date on or after the birth date. BaZi evaluates the solar-term year and month at noon in the selected chart time zone. Zi Wei evaluates the lunar year and month and shows where their palaces land in the natal chart.
